7-year-old among 10 children rescued from sex abusers
Ten children in the Dominican Republic are getting their childhood back.
10 children between the ages of 7 and 15 were rescued over the course of seven separate cases. Our agents worked with local law enforcement to investigate the abusers and get the children to safety. Every offender has been taken into custody and vulnerable children are out of their reach.

Seventeen girls, all between 15 and 17 years old, no longer have to sell their bodies to survive.

While most of the survivors were forced to sell their bodies to survive, four of the kids were being trafficked by the adults who should’ve been caring for them. We are currently working to provide these children safe, caring homes where they can learn to be kids again. The children were lured with fake job offers before being entrapped.

These 15 kids, all between 13 and 16 years old, were forced into sex work and threatened with beatings if they didn’t comply. Our agents partnered with law enforcement to rescue the victims via multiple rescue operations. All the children have been safely reunited with their families.

While all victims of border trafficking are deceived by their traffickers in one way or another, we’re seeing more and more meet their trafficker online. Only one child met her trafficker in person; the other three were all groomed online through Facebook. Thanks to our border agents, all the victims have returned home after receiving training on how to spot and avoid trafficking in the future.
